In Honkai: Star Rail, dodging attacks is not an available strategy due to the turn-based nature of the game with no hit-rate mechanics. Therefore, prioritizing the team's HP becomes crucial for survival, especially in challenging battles. Initially, the game had limited healer options, with Natasha being obtainable freely and Bailu, a 5-star healer exclusive to Gacha. This posed challenges for players facing end-game content like Forgotten Hall, where having two healers is essential at higher memory levels. Fortunately, the version 1.1 update introduced Luocha as a third healer option, offering a unique kit compared to the other two choices.

The most distinctive aspect of Luocha's kit, in comparison to Bailu and Natasha, is its emphasis on passive healing abilities with limited AoE healing potential. His Skill possesses a high base healing rate for a single target that scales with his ATK and can remove a debuff from an ally after Luocha's ascension. Interestingly, his Ultimate lacks inherent healing properties and instead focuses on dealing AoE damage while removing buffs from all enemies. As such, with his high base ATK, Luocha can also function as a sub-DPS and weakness breaker. Another significant element of Luocha's healing is the accumulation of Abyss Flower stacks, which occurs when using his Skill and Ultimate. Upon reaching 2 stacks, Luocha's Talent is triggered, enabling him to create a field among enemies. When characters attack enemies within this field, they will be healed based on a percentage of Luocha's ATK. Additionally, once Luocha reaches Ascension 4, every character will also receive a lesser amount of healing. Consequently, while Luocha is relatively easy to sustain with low Skill Point requirements, players should prioritize maintaining this field. Building Luocha correctly becomes crucial to maximize his effectiveness in Honkai: Star Rail.

Luocha Best Relics In Honkai: Star Rail

As Luocha's healing scales with ATK, he can in fact highly benefit from equipping 2 different sets, namely being Passerby of Wandering Cloud for its Outgoing Healing Bonus, as well as Musketeer of Wild Wheat which will increase his ATK when both are equipped on 2 pieces. This means, luckily in his case players will need to only farm Corridor of Fading Echoes Path of Drifting and can utilize the suitable pieces from both of the drops.

For Planar Ornaments, players have two options for Luocha. The Space Sealing Station is generally more optimal for him, as it unconditionally increases his ATK. Once he reaches 120 speed, this ATK bonus is even doubled. Alternatively, players who lack suitable pieces from this Planar Ornament can consider equipping Luocha with Fleet of the Ageless, which is also obtainable from the same Simulated Universe in World 3. While it provides HP% as its main stat, reaching 120 speed grants Luocha an 8% ATK increase, benefiting not only him but also the rest of the team members. This makes it a viable support ornament choice.

When considering the main stats of the relic for Luocha, players should take into account which light cone they will be using to maximize the benefits of prioritizing certain main stats. For instance, players who have obtained Luocha's signature light cone, Echoes of the Coffin, will benefit significantly from prioritizing ATK%, along with some Energy Regen and Speed. This allows them to focus on other stats like Outgoing Healing and Speed even more. On the other hand, players without access to a high-value ATK can consider pieces that provide ATK instead of these stats. Generally, players should aim to reach 120 speed and try to have Luocha act after other allies have already lost some HP, as he is a healer. Luocha's base speed at level 80 is 101, making it relatively easy to reach the desired value with favorable sub-stats or by teaming him up with characters like Asta. Additionally, the ATK% Feet piece provides more additional ATK compared to the secondary effect of Space Sealing Station, making ATK% more worthwhile for most players to consider.

As for the desired sub-stats, players are in luck as Luocha can benefit effectively from a variety of stats. While ATK% is the more desired stat, other stats to consider are Speed, HP%, and DEF%. This is because, although Luocha doesn't directly scale from HP and DEF, it is ideal to keep him on the tankier side to ensure he doesn't get knocked down by enemies. In comparison, Bailu and Natasha inherently have higher HP stats, enabling them to sustain significant damage. Additionally, since Luocha also has a strong Ultimate that deals damage, even a small amount of Crit stats combined with Effect Res can benefit him. Ultimately, as a healer, his utility relies more on the primary stats of his relics and his talent levels rather than needing to min-max his sub-stats. This allows him to be built with more ease compared to DPS-focused characters.

Luocha Best Light Cones In Honkai: Star Rail

For Luocha, his best-in-slot light cone is undoubtedly his signature light cone, Echoes of the Coffin, which provides a significant amount of ATK% along with additional bonuses to Energy Generation and Speed. This light cone outperforms others due to the limited availability of ATK% light cones for the Abundance path, as many light cones instead focus on Outgoing Healing or HP%. It's important to note that while Echoes of the Coffin is an excellent option for Luocha, it won't perform as well for other healers unless another ATK% based healer is added to the roster, making it a niche choice. Therefore, players interested in saving resources can explore alternative options, in particular those that provide Outgoing Healing Bonus and Energy.

Another 5-star option, Bailu's best light cone, Time Waits for No One, can also work well for Luocha. Despite increasing HP% alongside Outgoing Healing, the HP boost can enhance his survivability, while the Outgoing Healing bonus is another desirable stat for him. When paired with an Outgoing Healing Bonus Body piece, Luocha's utility as a sub-DPS can also improve, as it deals additional damage once per turn when an ally hits an enemy after being healed. Additionally, as another 5-star option, Time Waits for No One inherently offers higher base stats compared to 4-star or lower options, increasing Luocha's healing potential and survivability.

For players without access to any 5-star options, there are viable 4-star alternatives to consider. Shared Feeling is an excellent choice as it provides unconditional Outgoing Healing Bonus without any conditions, and when Luocha uses his skill, it also generates energy for him and his allies, enabling increased damage and utility. Another great option is Post-Op Conversation, which increases Luocha's Energy Generation without any conditions and boosts his Outgoing Healing Bonus after using his Ultimate. Equipping Post-Op Conversation allows Luocha to utilize his Ultimate more frequently, enhancing his sub-DPS potential and enabling him to gain a stack of Abyss Flower without relying as heavily on Skill Points. Perfect Timing is an interesting light cone option, which also showcases Luocha in its artwork, that can be effective for players with a significant amount of Effect Res sub-stats in their relics. With high Effect Res, Luocha's Outgoing Healing Bonus can surpass the amount achievable with Post-Op Conversation and Shared Feeling, while also improving his resistance to enemy debuffs, hence enhancing his survivability, particularly when combined with his sixth ascension that improves his ability to resist crowd control debuffs.

For players who have not been fortunate enough to obtain these options from the Gacha, the 3-star light cone Cornucopia can be a viable choice. It significantly increases Luocha's Outgoing Healing, especially when fully superimposed, which is relatively easier to achieve given its lower rarity. Each time Luocha uses his Skill or Ultimate, Cornucopia allows him to perform well with a low-investment option. Interestingly, Cornucopia can even outperform the F2P-friendly light cone Quid Pro Quo, which can be obtained through Lucent Afterglow, as well as the Nameless Glory battle pass light cone Warm Nights Won't Last, as they focus on max HP, which is not as significant for Luocha.

Luocha Trace Priority In Honkai: Star Rail

Honkai: Star Rail – Luocha Build Guide (8)

Luocha's abilities are all generally quite important, except for his Basic ATK. His Skill targets and heals an ally with high modifiers, his Ultimate deals AoE damage, and his Talent Trace levels determine the amount of healing received once the field from stacking Abyss Flowers is placed. As such, it is recommended that players focus on leveling the traces of all these abilities except for his Basic ATK in order to save resources.

As such, the general priority Trace order for Luocha in Honkai: Star Rail should be:

1. Skill

2. Talent = Ultimate

3. Basic ATK

While Luocha's Talent and Ultimate are equally important, players who are looking to enhance his healing capabilities can prioritize Talent over Ultimate. Conversely, those who are benefiting well enough from the Skill's healing and looking to place him in a Sub-DPS role can focus on upgrading Ultimate instead of Talent first.
